Reflexology Courses & Training
A variety of reflexology courses are available in schools these days. But the fact remains that nearly all courses seem to have somewhat the same outline such as history of massage and the different types of massage, contraindications to massage, how to take a case history, hygiene, draping, professional ethics, qualities of a good massage therapist, the different types of base oils used in massage and the properties of a good massage table.
A number of demonstrations with regards to massage techniques and strategies to loosen up tension and blocked energy in the back, massage techniques for the back of the legs, buttocks, feet, arms and hands are made. Bands of tension that interconnect areas would also be shown. Later on, students are usually coupled up and are asked to commence working on each other under the supervision of the teacher.
The time duration of reflexology training usually depends on the course you take up, but courses are usually completed in less than a few weeks' time. However, there are certain holistic healing schools that provide continuing education classes in reflexology as well as reflexology certificate programs that can be achieved through ongoing workshops and seminars.
